Wine AdvocateThe 2011 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard is totally closed in on itself at the moment. The flavors are intensely mineral-inflected and saline. Crushed rocks and citrus lead to sweet floral and spiced notes, but the 2011 remains first and foremost a wine of texture and balance. Today, it is drop-dead gorgeous, even though the elements haven't fully come together yet. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2021.
