Untitled Petite Sirah hails from the Gaddis Vineyard in the Russian River Valley. The vineyard has vines dating back to the 1800's. These vines represent California's history of winemaking from a different time. Today the world has changed around the vines but they have stood the test of time through droughts, floods, fires, and earthquakes.
The vineyard is planted in an area that favors Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and struggles to get ripe. Even though the wine ripens in late fall, it has great balance with beautiful notes of berry and spice and lingering tannins. Made to age but approachable now in an elegant frame that begs for steak au poivre.
